The Warehouseman is responsible for managing and keeping close tabs on all facets of warehouse operations. This position ensures accurate, smooth and efficient shipping and receiving of goods (ingredients or products) to maintaining inventory and proper storage, by implementing quality warehouse management system.
1. Warehouse Operations
Facilitates receiving and dispatch operations of goods (ingredients and feeds). Ensures that right goods are received and/or dispatch within specified lead-time (on-time), in good condition (quality) and right quantity with proper documentation. Checks delivery vehicle integrity, verifies bio-security checklist and coordinates with plant operation the clean out procedure for direct pouring. Ensures forklifts are properly checked, used and maintained. Ensures that contractors are given orientations with warehouse policies and procedures and safety standards.
2. Warehouse Management
Manages warehouse activities and operation by implementation of good warehousing practices. Ensures inventory in the warehouse are organized that it complies with the safety, housekeeping, quality and logistics requirements. Strict adherence to all HACCP requirements as to warehouse practices. Ensures and implements embedded control in warehouse management to prevent losses and shrinkages. Conduct security checks to ensure inventory completeness. Maximizes warehouse space by proper zoning. Coordinates manpower requirement for handling and warehousing needs.
3. Inventory Management
Manages inventory. Ensures target DSI are met. Monitors inventory levels and movement in the warehouse. Conducts daily and month end physical inventory. Ensures FIFO is strictly followed. Monitors age of goods and submits report weekly for feeds and monthly for ingredients. Keeps accurate and complete records to ensure that inventory are managed to prevent losses and shrinkages.
4. Administration and reporting
Tasked with keeping detailed shipping and receiving logs to account for all goods that enter and leave the warehouse. Prepares various reports needed from warehouse section (inventory count, ageing, warehouse report, shrink report and warehouse cost).
- Graduate of 4 year course preferably Business or Computer courses.
- At least 2 years of related work experience in Warehousing or Logistics.
An eye for detail and an ability to solve problems are important traits for the Logistics Specialist (Warehouse Ops).
They must also be good communicators and multi-tasking in order to successfully manage day-to-day operations at a busy warehouse.
Demonstrate competence in warehouse and inventory management.
Good planning and execution skills.
Good collaboration skills with both internal and external customers.
Operates variety of tools and warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and handcarts, is an edge.
Knows Windows and Microsoft Office programs, such as Word and Excel.
