The Department of Information Technology is seeking a talented and motivated Individual with experience as a Windows and Linux Server Administrator. We host a variety of applications offering a challenging work environment and opportunity to work with the newest technology.
This ideal candidate should have a high level of expertise and broad experience in system administration and will maintain and manage all aspects of Windows/Linux server maintenance from operating system installation to patching updates on a timely basis, Will demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, be capable of explaining simple procedures in writing or verbally, and good telephone skills. Demonstrate familiarity with an operating system and its commands/utilities at a user level such as editing files, issuing commands, finding user home directories, navigating through a file system, and using I/O redirection. Demonstrate the ability to follow instructions well.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Experience with Patching tools like WSUS, SCCM, SpaceWalk, Yum
Experience with basic Windows and Linux based operating systems
Build strong partnerships with key customers, technical peers, and related support organizations (NOC, Helpdesk, etc.)
Provide supplemental support for tier 1 /tier2 Windows/Linux platforms.
Familiarity with standard scripting tools (PowerShell/Bash)
Plan and schedule the installation of operating system patches
Follow up on customer support problems.
Document incident response,
Stay current with system information, changes, and updates
Applies intermediate subject matter knowledge, including principles, theories and concepts, to solve a variety of common business issues.
Refers particularly complex issues to higher levels for resolution.
Be able to troubleshoot and assist in root cause analysis.
Familiarity and comfort with a ticket based workflow, change management practices
Works on moderately complex problems and projects.
Engages in situational and/or data analyses requiring the review of multiple factors. Teamwork, Collaboration and Influence:

Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of related experience
OR equivalent combination of education and years of related experience
Corporate environment experience is preferred.
