Position Summary:

SunPower is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to manage cost control methods and procedures of Upstream (Factories). The Senior Cost Account reports directly to the Cost Accounting Team Lead.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for the preparation and review of all materials related to variance capitalization for Fab business units and for all other manufacturing activities of Sunpower Corporation

  2. Preparation and analysis of transactions related to:

  • Material Usage Variance

  • PPV

  • Conversion Cost Variance

  1. WIP calculation and proper use of backflushing operations

  2. Review and analyze Fab’s operation’s budget vs actual on a monthly basis in preparation for the Factory Variances analysis

  3. Prepare Cycle Review material (Variance Capitalization)

  4. Participate/Support new business start-up, NPI and process/system changes or integration

  5. Preparation and/or review of Factory weekly Outlook/EOQ for variance capitalization

  6. Preparation and/or Review of Inventory and Balance Sheet reconciliations and assertions as required by the Corporate accounting group

  7. Ensures compliance to SOX policies and processes related to cost variance analysis

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree, in Finance or Accounting

  2. At least 5 years of experience in the field of Inventory and cost accounting activities in a multinational environment

  3. Highly analytical skills, keen to details and well organized

  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Can interact well with people from all levels

  5. Can deal with executives and foreign nationality business managers and stakeholders

Skills/Competencies Requirements:

  1. Preferably CPA

  2. Knowledge in Oracle system, a plus

  3. Knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley required

  4. Proficient in excel, word and Power Point presentation
