Description

Position Purpose

Responsible for the accurate and timely resporting of results of all analysis of plant material samples which includes but not limited toraw copra, plant process materials, oil and meal products, load out products, boiler water, corporate check samples, and othermaterials for which the laboratory is equipped to handle.

Responsibilities

  • Performs chemical and microbiological analyses of Raw Materials and Finished Products based on internationally recognizedanalytical procedures, conducts analysis of boiler water, ensures accuracy and fast acquisition of results, and interprets the resultsbased on knowledge of quality standards.

  • Implement and execute the requirements of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), participates in verification programs (e.g.Crosscheck), performs calibrations, maintain and upkeep laboratory instruments and equipment, ensures availability of all laboratorysupplies and materials as needed in all laboratory operations.

  • Performs NIR analyses, develops calibrations, deploy NIR technologies, and conducts equipment maintenance activities.

  • Performs documentation tasks (e.g. preparation of daily reports, experiment results, updating of the laboratory qualitydatabase, revision of SOPs and Forms and other related tasks).

  • Participate and assist in the execution and maintenance of all related activities under the Food Safety Management Systemand/or Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS).

  • Any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Education: BS Chemistry, Chemical Engineering Technology, Food technology and other related fields.

Experience: No experience needed.

Skills: Must be computer literate and willing to be trained.

Preferred Qualifications

Education: BS Chemistry, Chemical Engineering Technology, Food technology and other related fields.

Experience: 1-2 years experience in a quality control laboratory.

Skills: Must have statistical background.
