The *Corporate Finance General Accounting GES Manager * develops, interprets and implements financial and accounting concepts or techniques for financial reporting and control. The Manager also conducts special studies to analyze financial actions and prepares recommendations for policy, procedure, control and/or action. The incumbent supports the Accounting Director with the monthly book close process and variance reporting in a timely and accurate manner as well as adheres to strict reporting deadlines for pre-close and close. Additionally, the Manager performs a balance sheet review, which includes resolving outstanding issues, reviewing accruals, prepaid accounts payable and deferred income or expense.

  • Supervises and directs the Accounting Team to ensure that goals and objectives are met and that all financial reports are accurate are up-to-date and processed efficiently, effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Manages the accounting activities of the department which includes developing, interpreting and implementing financial and accounting concepts for financial planning and control.
  • Conducts special studies, analyzes financial actions and makes recommendations for policy, procedure, control and/or action.
  • Develops and implements recommendations on accounting methods and procedures.
  • Supports the Accounting Director with the monthly book close process and variance reporting in a timely and accurate manner as well as adheres to strict reporting deadlines for pre-close and close.
  • Performs a balance sheet review, which includes resolving outstanding issues, reviewing accruals, prepaid accounts payable and deferred income or expense.
  • Decisions and recommendations can affect the company's overall profitability.
  • Upholds organizational values and works with integrity and ethically.
  • Errors may cause expense which affects the quality of financial statements and reports and may result in the failure to achieve goals critical to the achievement of the objectives of the department.
  • Plans, conducts and manages assignments for work performed by associates.
  • Supervises and directs the Accounting Team to ensure that goals and objectives are met and that all financial reports are accurate are up-to-date and processed efficiently, effectively and in a timely manner.

Experience, Skills, Academic

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required or equivalent in education and experience. CPA or MBA preferred.
  • 2-3 years experience as a Lead Accountant with supervisory experience and a proven proficiency leading the day-to-day accounting activities.
  • Expert knowledge of Excel required.
  • 7+ to 10 years work related experience is a must
  • Ability to independently organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks and come to conclusions for recommendations.
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines while maintaining a high quality product
  • Ability to plan and evolve toward long term objectives
  • Strong analytical skills required
  • Possess well-rounded business judgment to recognize and respond to cross-departmental needs
  • Possess good writing and oral communication skills
