Laboratory Officer 1


  • Performs various laboratory procedures for testing vitamins, minerals, micro assay, amino acids, bacteriological testing, active ingredients of raw materials, in-process materials and finished products using simple to advanced instrumentation techniques.

  • Ensures that official testing procedures are used to perform required testing per QWP requirements.

  • Prepares materials, equipment set up and analytical solutions (including proper documentation) prior to execution of test procedure.

  • Reviews Certificate of Analysis of incoming materials against MJN specifications.

  • Reports deviation encountered during analysis and conducts root cause analysis.

  • Performs inspection and calibration of equipment per set frequency, in accordance with standard procedure.

  • Verification of laboratory data and computations of other Analysts.

  • Participates in different Laboratory Operations activities in executing Global QA standards such as: label claim verification, cross calibration between laboratories, validation program, calibration of laboratory instruments and equipment, monitoring laboratory performance program, environmental monitoring, GLP, Safety, Health and Environment as well as housekeeping activities.

  • Prepares and updates technical data sheets.

  • Validates rapid Chemical and Micro testing methods versus conventional method and highly technical computerized instruments such as High Performance Liquid Chromatograph (HPLC), Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP), Ion Chromatography (IC), Gas Chromatograph (GC), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrophotometer (UV-Vis) testers involving precision, accuracy, specificity and system suitability using linearity and reproducibility as basis.

  • Assists Supervisor and colleagues in the development, refinements of techniques and procedures that often lead to optimum performance of personnel as well as results to significant reduction of operating costs.

  • Assists in the training of practicum students, project employee, and newly hired analyst.

  • Interacts with suppliers re repair of laboratory equipment.

  • Coordinates with other Supply Chain department on laboratory if the Laboratory Supervisor is absent.


  • Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Chemistry.

  • Must be a registered/license Chemist.

  • Must have at least 1 year experience in laboratory operations.

  • Exposure in advanced instrumentation analyses is preferred.

  • Demonstrated skills in organization, prioritization and planning.

  • Must have very good oral and written communication skills.
