The App Developer, BI and Reporting supports the Manufacturing & OE - Global Applications (Mfg. & OE - Global Apps) Team within Downstream & Chemicals IT Operations. This team supports a wide range of applications utilized globally across manufacturing refining locations.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
The App. Developer, BI & Reporting will develop and support BI and general reporting applications in support of Chevron’s Downstream Manufacturing Operations and BI decision making processes. Prioritizing business enhancement requests and optimizing solutions is a key part of this position. The position will offer many development opportunities, architectural decision making and design, and day-to-day application support.
Develop and support reports based on a variety of OLTP and OLAP systems, using a variety of reporting frameworks (Cognos, SRSS, etc.)
Use SSIS to create ETL packages and use SSAS to create cubes.
Develop Reporting Framework Models, Database Views and other database objects used to expose de-normalized and other reporting data sources.
Work with customers to understand business requirements and lead efforts to ensure successful solution design, development, testing and delivery.
Develop and support multiple classic ASP web reporting applications, and assist in migrating to .Net/MVC
Provide daily operational support for several applications by troubleshooting incidents to identify root causes and solutions.
Use PerformancePoint/Power BI to create dashboards, scorecards, and reports and publish and display the information to SharePoint.
Monitor interfaces/data loads, administer security, and monitor application performance.
Identify areas for improvement through understanding of technical and business requirements. Partner with Business Analysts/team members to address tactical and strategic issues.
Support and/or drive technical upgrade projects and change initiatives
Adhere to Incident and Change Management procedures in support of DS&C IT Operations' tools and processes to meet application SLAs and high system reliability (e.g. Remedy).
Develop and maintain technical support documentation.
Maintain IP Compliance on systems and software as appropriate.
Plan, organize and coordinate technical work activities with DS&C IT Operations members and other support organizations as applicable, e.g., ITC.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
3-4 years of development experience with BI Reporting tools, Cognos/Cognos Framework Manager, or SSRS
Technical Support Knowledge-Depth of knowledge/experience with one or more of the following: Cognos Reports, Cognos Framework Manager, SSRS Reports. In addition, experience with SQL programming, and one of the following: Classic ASP, VBScript, VB, VBA, or VB.Net.
Skilled customer support analyst in a wide range of technologies including operational support.
Experience with OSI PI Suite including Historian and AF
Infrastructure and Database experience - Windows 7, Windows Server 2008+, IIS, TSQL/ SQL Server 2008+ Business Intelligence (BI): SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, PerformancePoint, Power BI & SharePoint 2010+ Knowledge in MarkLogic No SQL programming
PowerShell or other scripting languages
Computer Science or Engineering degree or work experience a strong plus.
Experience with Process Control Networks.
