Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Perform system administration tasks to ensure efficient and reliable Linux servers for the corporation. Install, configure, upgrade, and patch operating systems and system utilities. Investigate and quickly resolve system errors, perform backups and ensure user accessibility. Create and maintain Samba file shares and user accounts.

  • Provide day-to-day end-user support with a high level of customer service. Working in conjunction with support groups, end users and vendor’s resources to troubleshoot and quickly resolve hosted application errors.

  • Create, upgrade, and maintain scripts required for system management, backups and automation.

  • Perform various other proactive support tasks required to support ERP and Application Hosting Infrastructure.

  • Create and maintain systems documentation including procedures, guidelines and policies.

  • Develop, test, review and executes Disaster Recovery exercise.

  • Be familiar with all aspects of troubleshooting and take part in the team’s on-call rotation, in which support personnel are expected to be available on a periodic 24x7 basis.

  • Support Connect: Direct and SFTP application at the operating systems level.

  • Ensure supported infrastructure meets Corporate Security Standards and complies with regulatory requirements such as Sarbanes Oxley.

  • Ensure timely completion of Information Protection compliance activities and any associated remediation.

  • Perform daily monitoring of systems both hardware and OS level and resolve issues originating from both automated alerts and customer “Service Desk” cases.

  • Work on service requests of one or more types performed by the team based on the agreed SLA.

  • Identify, develop, document, and implement process and procedure improvements and efficiencies.

  • Review, enhance and contribute to the improvement of metrics reporting processes.

  • Manage or participate in projects with diverse stakeholders

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficient in Linux server management and administration on both Physical and virtualized environments

  • Familiarity with the fundamentals of Linux scripting languages (e.g. Bash, KSH and PERL)

  • Experience in installing, configuring, and maintaining services such as LDAP, Samba, VAS/QAS, Apache, ReaR, PCP etc.

  • Familiar with Configuration Management tools, such as CFEngine, Ansible and Chef

  • Familiar with Database clustering preferably Active Data Guard solution

  • Experience with virtualization technologies, such as VMWare

  • Knowledge of debugging and troubleshooting network, performance, and software issues

  • Ability to build and monitor services on production servers

  • Familiar with Connect: Direct file transfer, SFTP and interface infrastructure

  • Familiar with system monitoring tools such as MS System Center Operation Manager (SCOM)

  • Familiar with Disaster Recovery and Information Protection standards

  • Leadership skills - ability to plan, organize and coordinate work activities with support groups, end users and vendors’ resources.

  • Teamwork - ability to work with a team toward a common goal, staying aligned with agreed strategies, priorities and processes to deliver results.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or other relevant fields

  • At least 5 years’ solid experience on Red Hat Linux utilizing local, Network and SAN attached storage

  • Exhibits a strong oral and written communication skills including group presentation, facilitation and training skills.

  • Strong analytical, teamwork and customer engagement skills

  • Project Management skills

  • Open to schedule that will include both standard working hours and swing/mid-shift.

  • Willing to participate on projects such as cloud migration and automation
