The Software License Management Analyst is responsible for managing and optimizing the purchase, deployment, maintenance, utilization, and retirement of software licenses within the enterprise. The position ensures Chevron's compliance with all external licensing and associated internal corporate policies and asset requirements, while identifying and optimizing existing license inventory and procurement options to reduce total cost of ownership.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Inventory Management: Approves install requests, purchases licenses, applies machine controls, handles invoice reconciliation, manages license inventory, and achieves investment recovery by relocating and redeploying unused software.
Software Rationalization: Performs business needs analysis of software, creates standards, and provide partner IT organizations with packaging and version control
Compliance & Risk Management: Collects media and proof of licenses to ensure compliance, research export/import compliance, ensure policy enforcement, provide software analysis and reporting, participate in audit preparation, and provide security for licenses and media
Supplier Support: Ensure proper discounting, problem resolution for maintenance and renewal items.
Business Planning: Participates in software true-up process and analysis for assigned suppliers/contracts, metrics reporting and analysis of changes in lifecycle of software and reporting to management
Process Implementation: Documents and executes SLM and evergreen processes, including audit mitigation
Communicates with business partners regarding policy, procedures, risk management and consequences as required
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems (MIS), Business, Finance or related areas
Demonstrated application of solid Supply Chain, Financial, or Systems Analysis to deliver effective business solutions
Minimum of 2 years' experience in Business Analysis functions
Advanced use of Microsoft Office suite, including but not limited to Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Outlook and SharePoint
Ability to work cross-functionally and proactively communicate with stakeholders across multiple business units and various geographies
Ability to manage or work on multiple projects and tasks at one time
Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, prioritize requests, and work independently while producing quality work
IT Software Asset Management Certification or equivalent
Background and experience with IT contracts, software license management tools, and ARIBA contracts Workbench
Background and experience in IRM-related activites
Knowledge in Database technologies
Relocation will not be considered.
