Purpose of Role:

Brilliant Execution

  • Clarity in the deployment of programmes and tools that maximise sustainable profit/ for the covered territory/channel/outlets including trade terms, pricing strategy, promotional effectiveness that optimise distribution & inventory efficiencies.

  • Able to identify and prioritise highest value creating activities (volume/market share) and manages internal stakeholders to ensure swift, effective decision making

  • Effectively balances short and long term performance goals in planning, execution and evaluation of activity

  • Compliant with internal processes

  • Able to measure and evaluate activities for bang-for-buck

  • Timely and accurate reports/ sales demand forecasts for covered accounts

Measurement of Success

  • Execution standards are followed in covered territory/outlets.

  • Commercial Prowess, or ability to translate a business proposition into a winning commercial argument that is beneficial to both DPI and its customers.

  • Ability to look for opportunities within the system and pursue this opportunities into a winning commercial proposition.

  • High level M&E or being able to evaluate the success of an investment in terms of driving profits, volumes, market share, customer satisfaction, etc.

  • Championing ‘Business Reviews’ and presentation ‘aggressive growth plans’ with direct alignment to the overall strategic vision.

  • Identification and development of future resource requirements and structures

Builds effective Amazing Relationships

  • Establishment of a strong and pro-active network of relationships internal in Diageo and external customers

  • Establishment and maintenance of a network of contacts and mutual business understanding across the in field based operations of the Customer as well as at Head Office

• Brilliant Execution standards for promotions and responsible for the performance of assigned On Trade Specialists and Promotion Staff

Overall Management of execution and Manpower

• Delivers business performance as agreed in prioritization of outlets – delivers objectives on volume, profitability, market share, and brand health objectives consistently beating the competition.

• Brilliant activation and execution of our growth drivers, backed up by best-in-class M&E (measurement and evaluation)

• Develop and drive customer specific strategies.

• Proactively seeks out new opportunities for building Diageo’s portfolio and for partnering with Customers within the Territory and build and influences relationships within that organization.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

o Minimum of one to two years of consumer sales/ marketing/ trade marketing (spirits or beer) experience

o Developed understanding and proven application of customer insights

o Possess language skills appropriate to the customer environment

o Requires excellent communication and influencing skills using tact, patience and courtesy

o Flexibility to adapt to changing environment and marketing conditions

o Considerable drive, energy, leadership and focus to sufficiently energize the internal and external resources of the company to execute the agreed objectives on assigned brand

o Highly analytical and data literate, understanding and evaluating the profit impact of their actions

o Creative, eye for detail is a plus

o Knowledge and passion for the spirits/beer consumer

o Experience in implementing full sales & marketing mix promotions

o Commercial acumen: building and handling amazing relationships with customers
