Summary:

NetSuite is looking for an exceptional, self-directed Product Manager to drive and manage the product components of our retail vertical product strategy. Your responsibilities will include understanding the needs of NetSuite customers as well as that of our internal users, gathering requirements, managing feature backlogs and improvement projects, and working with world-class teams to deliver fantastic features.

Responsibilities:

  • Deeply understand the needs of current and target customers through quantitative and qualitative customer research. Passionately represent the voice of our diverse customers to internal teams.

  • Prioritize features and investments to get the maximum customer benefit and drive continuing growth of NetSuite.

  • Participate in developing assigned products and features in the assigned product portfolio. Create, execute and communicate the multi-year roadmap to achieve the goals and strategy for the assigned product area.

  • Own the product backlog and prioritize product enhancements, customer and internal requests by making smart, decisive trade-offs using data-driven analysis and sound judgment.

  • Proactively conceive, document and drive the creation of new features. Create use cases, user stories, and detailed product requirements that clearly articulate desired product functionality.

  • Collaborate with Development, QA, Doc, and XD, Support, Training, Marketing and Sales to deliver great products to our internal and external customers.

  • Create and manage business, product management, and release schedules including tasks, milestones, and dependencies across multiple concurrent projects and cross-departmental teams.

  • Drive collection of metrics that gauge whether features are meeting defined objectives.

  • Perform risk identification and mitigation planning.

  • Manage features through their entire lifecycle including requirements definition, design, implementation and release.

  • Assist in defining, implementing and improving operational processes.

  • Communicate proactively to encourage teamwork and cooperation between cross-functional teams and mediate conflicts when necessary.

  • Optimize process to achieve operational efficiencies wherever possible.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years technical product management, product development, or technical professional services experience.

  • Experience in building or maintaining software for Ecommerce and Retail verticals, an advantage.

  • Prior experience in using/supporting/deploying accounting/financial management/ERP systems, particularly NetSuite is an advantage

  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle, and familiarity with software development concepts, methodologies and tools, particularly with web-based applications preferred.

  • Knowledge in data visualization and analytics is also an advantage

  • Ability to make recommendations and decisions independently, to sell ideas to management and make convincing arguments for the direction of the products.

  • Passion for and ability to understand customer needs and deliver great solutions with exceptional user experience.

  • A track record of successfully working with a geographically distributed development, QA, and technical writing team to deliver quality products.

  • Strong organizational skills: task prioritization, effective time management, meeting facilitation, conflict resolution, risk identification and mitigation, excellent communication and cross-functional teamwork.

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Work as part of a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a member of the product development division, you will define product specifications and or strategy. Gather and analyze information to define product specifications and review design specifications. Communicate product strategy and functionality. Initiate and foster relationships with other groups. Review product documentation and collateral. Ensure successful product releases based on corporate priorities.

Duties and tasks are standard with some variation; displays understanding of roles, processes and procedures. Performs moderately complex problem solving with assistance and guidance in understanding and applying company policies and processes. BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 1 year of software engineering or related experience.
