The Commercial Management Trainee is an early career employee who is following a structured training and development program, designed to build and develop specific skills, knowledge and attitudes that will enable them to transition to junior roles in the areas of trading and merchandising. This particular traineeship is time-bound (6 to18 months) and is yet dependent upon meeting performance expectations.
We are looking for curious candidates with an appetite for risk and a strong interest in agricultural commodity markets. Your numerical and analytical capabilities must be top-notch. Your drive for accuracy in administration, risk reporting and market analysis must be immaculate.
On top of that you have an entrepreneurial spirit and are not afraid to challenge the status quo. You think out of the box and will share our acquired knowledge, opinions and views to the broader organization. A high level of collaboration with customers, logistics, service providers, traders and operations will be demanded.
The preferred candidate is curious, resilient, determined and is able to develop and leverage deep customer knowledge and insights. Lastly you need to be able to deal with a substantial workload under high time pressure.
Execution of trading & merchandising strategies in cooperation with the local and regional teams.
Ownership of one of the products manufactured in our region, including sales / trading / supply chain related activities.
Trade-flow analysis and writing market reports, along with recommendations and/or gameplans.
Developing market knowledge through interaction with market participants.
Develop knowledge of the specific trades, as well as logistics, contract terms and operations.
Develop Account Management skills to assist with customer development activities.
Maintain and further develop collaborative relationships with BU’s and platform(s).
Graduate of a Bachelor’s degree in any relevant field, with strong academic records
At least one (1) year work experience in a sales/commercial/account management role
Outstanding numerical and analytical capabilities
Excellent learning and execution capacity
Willing to travel within different locations in the Philippines
