Primary Function:

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide leadership for the implementation of the plant’s Materials Strategy and implementation of standard, effective and efficient material processes and flow. Responsibilities include development, coordination and deployment of the activities of integrated materials management including demand forecasting, capacity planning, customer scheduling, material / product delivery and supplier replenishment. This includes responsibility for all material management processes including; SiOP (Sales Inventory Operations Planning), Customer Scheduling, Material and Demand Planning, Inventory Management and Standard Packaging.

The Materials Planning and Logistics Manager will be responsible to develop, implement and maintain a an optimized, effective and efficient materials organization incorporating procurement management, inventory management and demand planning. The Materials and Production Planning Manager will provide strategy and direction for the plant materials organization and support functions to optimize material flow to meet and exceed customer requirements in the areas of productivity, quality, cost, delivery, and safety. This involves the responsibility of standard processes for directing and administering materials scheduling and inventory control.

Successful implementation of effective and efficient materials control systems and processes are an integral part of the execution of the materials strategy and processes throughout the plant operations. The Materials and Production Planning Manager will work closely with the plant materials team to drive continuous learning and help identify skills, knowledge or functional expertise vital to the success of the materials strategy.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage all aspects of Materials and Production Planning, in adherence with corporate, divisional and plant policies to achieve plant and departmental goals

  • Inventory control activities; excess and obsolete material elimination

  • Oversee activities of Material Planners to assure that customer delivery, manufacturing efficiency and plant inventory objectives are met and that engineering change activities are effectively coordinated.

  • Drive deployment of the plant operations materials processes, and help develop and improve these processes

  • Oversee the development and implementation of new inventory management and scheduling methods and procedures.

  • Prepare annual performance appraisals for direct reports.

  • Assure adherence to plant policies and procedures.

  • Maintain work area housekeeping and assist in department/team housekeeping efforts.

  • Report unusual conditions, safety issues or defective material to manager/supervisor.

  • Provide for the training and development of subordinates.

  • Assists in maintaining an atmosphere of continuous improvement and team efforts for accomplishing department and plant goals.

  • Conduct monthly departmental meetings, and participate as required in general plant communication.

  • Manage special assignments and projects as assigned by Plant Manager.

  • Utilize the following tools and equipment: computer, office equipment.

  • Responsible for the implementation and deployment of actions to ensure compliance with local, company and other adopted standards (e.g. ISO, other international product standards)

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Must have Bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years relevant work experience on Materials Planning and Production Planning

  • Must have at least 15 years of total work experience

  • Must have hands-on SAP experience in MM and PP modules (In-depth knowledge of SAP and not necessarily a super user);

The person must know the logic what he needs from the report but does not need to do the actual reporting,

understands the logic, not necessarily do the transactions

  • Must have industry-related experience (Box-Build, Electronics, Seminicon companies)

  • Preferably with Warehouse and Logistics Management experience

  • Experience on running dynamic bin processes, advantage

  • Broader understanding of the other facets of the business operations outside of the scope of work (e.g. production, quality, localization/supply chain), advantage

  • Experience on High Mix and Low Volume operations particularly coming from light engineering and manufacturing industries
