Position Purpose

  • Manage the operations of the crush plant and potential future expansion

  • Excecution of tactical plans on Manufacturing Excellence, Talent management, Environment, Health & Safety (EHS), Food safety, quality and regulatiory requirements (FSQR).

  • Coordinate and engage functional leads into delivering result on various area of plant performance.

  • Implementation of Achieve Zero Safety Strategy within the location applicable to employees, contractors and third parties vendors/suppliers.

  • Ensure the plant runs safely and productively within specifications and within budget (as per crush volume and yield expectations)

  • Cost Management in driving optimization (production, repairs and maintenance, services, base level)

  • Develop and leverage talent for growth

Principal Accountabilities

  • Responsible for the overall efficient operation of the facility

  • Adopt, build and cultivates continuous improvements culture and best practices across different areas of the operations, ie. EH&S, reliability, quality,

  • Champions and leverages leading operational practices and aggressively raise the performance of the plant.

  • Leads and enforces Reliability Excellence processes and ensures the reliability culture is foundational to operations. Work with COEs to identify and leverage opportunities for continuous improvement so as to achieve targeted results and key metrices.

  • Leads food safety and quality regulatory (FSQR) program standards and goals for the facility. Accountable for all procedures and strategic and tactical execution in alignment with corporate and local government regulations.

  • Collaborates with EHS/FSQR anablers to ensure the most effective risk mitigation plans and regulatory compliance strategies are in place:

  • Health & Safety: champions a culture of zero injury and illness and ensure facility activities are aligned with our Achieve Zero strategy.

  • Environmental: Reduces and proactively avoids environmental impact and potential risk to the businesses.

  • Food Safety: Accountable for eliminating risks associated with products. Ensures HACCP/FDA requirements are met in all processes.

  • Work with EHS and FSQR specialists to identify risks and to act on risk mitigation strategies

  • Represents the business with external/internal regulatory authorities and to build and maintain good relationships with the local community and regulatory agencies, with the objective of aligning business interests while addressing stakeholders/community needs.

  • Leads, directs and controls capital and operating budgets and ensure operating expenses meet established targets.

  • Manages manufacturing P&L budgets/metrics and understands how production expenditure/costs impacts businesses margins and pricing.

  • Accountable for setting and managing base and non-base capital investments. Be involved in the development of plant capital strategies and ensures project objectives and scope are consistent with business strategy and technology strategy.

  • Builds reliability and process safety into capital projects. May directly implement, execute and deploy all base and non-base capital investments projects.

  • Leads strategic and tactical operations/quality management deliverables to ensure customer and product/quality standards requirements are met within specifications.

  • Track and monitor performance metrics so as to assess effectiveness of corporate quality management activities and programs at the plant level.

  • Supervises and provides coaching to production supervisors and plant engineers

  • Oversees general workforce administration policies and programs and execute disciplinary actions. Works with HR partner to develop future production workforce needs and participates in selection of employees.

  • Monitors employee performance records on a monthly/ quarterly basis and actively address and manage performance issues.

  • Accountable for successful training and on boarding of new/transferred employees.


  • Engineering graduate ( preferably chemical / manufacturing tech)

  • Minimum 3 years work as a plant manager in a food or petrochemical-based refinery

  • Experience managing multiple teams within a plant or multiple plants.

  • TQEM or any Continuous Improvement (CI) experience in a managerial capacity is an advantage.

  • Experience in working in a maintenance department / role

  • Preference given to candidate from food processing plant or Chemical plant with a strong safety culture.

  • Strong organizational skill to drive different intiatives concurrently.

  • Challenges the status quo in performance and assumptions.

  • Strong analytical skills to drive decision in operations, cost and safety

  • Computer literacy is a must.

  • Local government relations: Liaisons with Labor department for permitting and regulations in relation to plant operations (employment, pressure vessels, etc.)
