Manufacturing and Engineering Services Manager
Develops plans and strategies to increase over-all plant capacity and efficiency at minimal cost and investment.
Develops programs that will drive long term improvements in the plant that will impact the Productivity and Efficiency, Quality, Cost, Delivery/Service, Safety and Morale/People engagement.
Organize programs to enhance people development and skills development.
Management of Non-manufacturing Support and Engineering services in areas of Capital Projects, Plant capacity studies, Utilities and Facilities maintenance, Equipment calibration and telecommunication.
Oversees the company wide EHS program including effective coordination with another functions of external organizations, regulatory bodies such as BFAD, DOLE, DOE, DENR, OHS, FPA and EHS and compliance with contractual requirements.
Leads the implementation of appropriate technologies to improve quality, product cost and better customer service.
Works with the planning team to execute new products on time and continues to improve the performance of the associated manufacturing process.
Sets the stretch financial targets and creates the commitment within the team to achieve superior performance.
Creates and develops a high performing team of superior talents who are committed to the MJN mission and will effectively lead the achievement of desired goals.
Planning, organizing, leading and controlling plant activities necessary for the timely manufacture and delivery of high quality nutritional products under the safe conditions, in a cost effective manner and according to HACCP and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
Ownership and overall accountability for all the operational activities under the Production Operations Team and the three (3) production lines (CAN/BIB4, BIB1 and BIB2), Production Services Group (PSG), Continuous Improvement Group (CIG), Engineering and Technical Services.
Manages the onsite Third Party Service Provider for Pack-off operations, for AHU/HVAC/Utilities Operations, Janitorial and Cleaning Services, Clinic Operations, Canteen Operations and Site Security in terms of Performance or KPI management, Management of operations alignment between MJN and Service Provider, Relationship managementPlant Operations Management
Plans, leads, organizes and directs the execution of the Finite Schedule in accordance with the set standards (on quality, mitigations, cost, efficiency, man hour).
Monitors production performance and acts/decides on operational issues as needed.
Leads the team in problem solving and risk management activities and initiatives.
Leads and facilitates the daily meetings and develops short term and medium term plans to achieve the set operational objectives/targets.
Facilities the MBU process in collaboration with the rest of the Supply Chain Leadership Team.
Reviews and achieves the set yearly production objectives.
Productivity, Cost and Efficiency
Leads the preparation of annual budget and projections for the M&ES Department.
Generates productivity projects and monitors its execution
Reviews productivity and cost targets and create ways to achieve it.
Deliver high inventory records accuracy of PSG
Drive the Plant’s Over-all equipment efficiency (OEE)
Thru collaboration with production, the continuous improvement group, plant maintenance, facilities engineering, and the planning team in achieving desired planned and unplanned downtime levels.
Thru execution of line improvements (kaizens)
Ensures quality standards are met (e.g. HACCP, GMP, Hygiene, Regulatory)
Leads the creation and review of the plants quality plans to prevent quality issues
Drives reduction of quality related KPIs (rejects, wastes, non-conformances, write-offs)
Leads team that formulates solutions and actions for quality problems encountered.
Plan and deliver the monthly MPS (Master Production Schedule)
Ensures all FG production are supported, produced and are released on time
Ensures all innovations are launched on time.
Ensures shutdown and startup of plant engineering works are completed and within the time committed
Guides the Technical Services Processes
On-time availability of New Products
On-time availability of products for the Product Line Extension and Product Line Reformulations.
On-time availability of the first batch of product for export and those produced in TPM
On-time implementation of packaging materials projects.
Environment, Health and Safety (EHS)
Implement and execute the company’s safety, health and environment programs
Ensures compliance to all EHS standards and SOPs.
Investigates EHS incidents and make improvements as necessary.
Supports the EHS committee
Support Services to Plant Operations
Establish annual Engineering projects and execute within the cost and timelines
Assures facility maintenance and management
Ensures that the recommend CAPEX budgets are aligned with business strategies and are executed within the timelines and within the budget.
Develops leaders at every level of the Operations
Engage associates in planning and driving improvements
Executes and development plans and skills enhancement program (SEP) for associates under the plant.
Leads hiring, transfer and firing associates.
Engage the union for operational issues (healthy management-employee relations)
Strictly implement code of conduct and company rules/regulations.
Must be an Engineering college graduate
Preferably a Registered Engineer / Engineering Board Passer
Preferably with outstanding academic and leadership records
Must have the extensive experience in a manufacturing management (at least 4-5 years) within the food, pharmaceutical or Consumer Company. Preferably held a significant supply chain role in planning, sourcing and delivering functions.
Must have experience in handling people and teams including unionized employees.
Must have proven track record in driving continuous improvements that impacts productivity, quality, cost service and people morale.
Must have experience on the basics/fundamentals of quality (GMP, HCCP), planning (SI&OP), human relations (Industrial Relations, CBA) engineering (maintenance, hygienic design), finance (P&L statements).
Must have exercised outstanding leadership or considered as a high performer in the organization.
