Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of JDE Application Developer located in [[filter5]] , [[filter4]] /[[filter3]] through May 16, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).
This position will provide Systems Applications Product JD Edwards (Enterprise One) support and consultancy to business application end-users located across Chevron's global operations to ensure system integrity and quality. It strives to implement and perpetuate "Best Practice" processes within the business application user community to optimize customer return on IT investments.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
- Provides baseline JDE Application Development support
Performs JDE development for reports and applications and troubleshooting or investigation in case there are program issues
Handles acknowledgement, coordination and resolution of end-user requests for JDE Development related services
Categorizes and prioritizes each request to ensure that adverse impact to business operations is minimized and normal service is restored quickly.
Perform optimization of system resources to improve efficiency/performance
Establish and Maintain Standards and Guidelines
Work with the different teams and IT partners in the different parts of the world (e.g. LTI from India) in providing services to our internal customers.
Participate in ERP project implementation or modification/enhancements.
Occasional work during non-business hours (evenings, weekends, and holidays) to respond to system emergencies or to complete critical tasks will be required and based on business needs.
- Assists in the achievement of Operational Excellence objectives for overall system reliability, security, availability, responsiveness, effectiveness, and operational cost for ITSD.
Analyzes incident history records and conducts root-cause analysis on system failures that disrupt normal business operations when needed.
Upgrades system quality assurance processes and/or makes application process changes to eliminate future incidents.
Contribute to team initiatives relating to OE, Reliability and Safety
Adheres to the ITSM and JDE Change Management Processes
- Provides design and consulting expertise for new implementations and enhancements to existing business processes related to application development
Analyze and understand the business requirements. Demonstrates the ability to assess and understand the customer business objectives and to identify creative and doable business alternatives.
Identify and document technical requirements. Demonstrates the ability to gather and model business data requirements, business process requirements and business rules and transform to technical documentation to be able to develop JDE programs
Apply CPDEP for IT Principles and Processes within the framework of a project or other routine work (e.g., framing the situation, considering alternatives, communication, behavioral change management, etc.).
Communicate effectively (written and spoken)
- Keeps abreast with the new technologies used by Chevron.
Minimum of 1 year experience with JD Edwards Development or any equivalent ERP/technology – development of reports, applications and forms, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, etc. (if none, at least C, C++, C# or Java programming languages)
Should have fluent understanding of business processes.
Experience in analyzing business opportunities and providing customer solutions related to JDE Development
Should have understanding of software development process, business process and service level models and agreements
Should have good analytical skills and good written and verbal communication skills
Experience in functional areas from the Upstream business processes utilizing JDE is a plus
Relocation will not be considered.
