VMware Associate Project Manager - Philippines in Manila, Philippines

VMware Associate Project Managers are responsible for leading PSO projects that are of low to medium complexity, from initiation to close out. The Associate Project Manager (APM) will adhere to the VMware Delivery Excellence (DE) methodology and deliver these projects to mutually agreed upon scope, schedule and budget.This role will act as the primary interface to our customer (internal and external), who is responsible for the full life cycle of projects or programs from project kickoff through project completion.

As an Associate Project Manager (APM) in the VMware PSO DE Associate Program, you will participate in a structured program that combines intensive training and on-the-job mentored experience. This comprehensive role based-training includes:

  • An introduction to the Cloud computing industry, standard methodologies, VMware PSO Delivery Methodology and the VMware way of doing business

  • Hands-on experience with the VMware tools, processes and Project Delivery Methodology

  • Project Management Institute (PMI) based training

  • Completion of PSO Delivery Excellence Boot camp

Following the PSO DE Bootcamp, responsibilities for the role are the following:

  • Mainly handles projects in Philippines, with occasional need to handle projects in the Southeast Asia and Korea (SEAK) region

  • Be responsible for the execution of the project plan and the detailed Statement of Work (SOW) developed for the customer

  • Own the goals and scope of a project to ensure VMware’s dedications to the customer are achieved

  • Prepare and maintain clear and concise activity/progress/time recording reports in accordance with VMware’s standards and submits to customers, management and Sales

  • Own the implementation and daily management of activities, which are coordinated with VMware and/or partner resources

  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the happiness of the customer and account team

  • Communicate to all project stakeholders any existing or potential customer critical issues

  • Build and be responsible for the VMware Project Change process as needed

  • Stay informed of current industry trends and new technology through professional associations, continued professional development, VMware required quarterly training, trade journals, networking, and associated training and seminars

  • Articulate and evangelise the value of the VMware Solutions and Services business benefit to the customer

  • Provide a single point of contact during the project lifecycle for all aspects of the project

  • Maintain financial management and the processes for following and executing of revenue recognition rules and policies

  • Management to coordinate and validate weekly revenue forecast

  • Perform other duties as required

  • You have a Bachelor’s Degree Management Information Systems (MIS) or similar business-related discipline

  • You have 1+ years of relevant work experience

  • Have a strong project management and project accounting acumen

  • Possess a strong sense of urgency

  • Up to 25% travel may be required

Success criteria/metrics for this role will include:

  • Project delivery - Delivering to mutually agreed upon scope, schedule and financial parameters (project profitability)

  • Meet or exceed a Billable utilization goal

  • Customer happiness – as measured by post project completion survey

  • Commitment to consulting delivery

  • Provides value beyond simply handling the administrative aspects

  • Works with account teams to establish relationships and drive account strategy

  • Providing thought leadership to improve the quality of VMware-customer relationship;
