Inbound Logistics Assistant Manager



Drive the initiatives of centralized coordination, tracking & monitoring of all day to day activities related to Inbound Logistics for enhancing customer experience and achieving best in class operational efficiency. Act as a key link between factory and warehouse to coordinate and execute day to day operations in the most optimum and efficient manner. Provide key inputs to logistics planning team basis real time data on truck utilization, lead time tracking, truck turn around time, direct dispatch efficiencies, modes of transportation & transporter KPI compliance report to achieve excellence in execution


  • Ensure Truck Utilization & Placement at Factories

  • Ensure direct dispatch KPIs are met

  • Track deliveries and ensures service levels at DCs and RS/CSP

  • Track carrier reliability, conducts operational meetings with carriers

  • Coordinates with Customer Service Teams to manage any issues at customer receiving

  • Monitor Transport-Related Service Losses & feed back to the planning lead for analysing and plugging these loss gaps

  • Tendering loads to transporters/ Schedule orders with customers

  • Monitor dedicated fleet & direct deliveries

  • Monitor and ensure compliance of right truck type for the right load/route for primary and secondary transportation. Ensure compliance

  • Ensure compliance on right truck type (as defined in the system)

  • Ensure efficiencies and strict compliance for direct dispatch, loading/unloading operations, etc

  • Monitor and execute lead time reduction by coordinating with transporter/ factory and warehouse teams

  • Coordinate with transporters/factories and warehouses for daily backhauling opportunities and execute the same

  • Track and document transporter contract compliance

  • Being the execution arm for inbound trucking, reporting on a real time basis the efficiencies in loading at factory, truck movements and provide real time data for exception management

  • Monitor the IT systems (OTM) and ensure compliance of all operational procedures

  • Publish daily reports on compliance

  • Keep up to date on all relevant W&T operations on a daily basis

  • Keep up to date on relevant Supply Chain technology trends amongst best-in-class companies

  • Actively support corporate policy and ethics leading by example


  • Bachelors Degree in any field (preferably Science or Engineering)

  • Min 8 yrs work experience in Supply Chain (Planning, Distribution, Warehousing etc)

  • Understanding of W&T management practices, distribution network & channels

  • Has worked on ERP platforms like SAP

  • Good working knowledge of Supply Chain processes

  • Good at maintaining MIS & documentation

  • Good communication skills
