The Role

As a Software Engineering Manager you will play a key role in

coaching and providing technical guidance for engineering teams, across two

product lines in the development of highly available, scalable and

high-performing enterprise class, global software products.

This role requires an individual with a successful history

of context switching between providing technical leadership, delivery focus and

team management. This role involves supporting

engineering best practices and standards rollout, providing technical

mentorship to other engineers, as well as partnering with application and

system architects. Having a history and passion for code quality through unit

testing coverage, continuous integration, code/design reviews, static and

dynamic code analysis, technical debt prevention and information security

vulnerability studies/remediation is paramount.

From a delivery leadership perspective, you will partner

with the Global Leader of Software Engineering in ensuring the success of the

Engineering teams and the quality of their work, at the same time being a

strong advocate for the teams. This

position requires solid development skills, but also the ability to collaborate

effectively with peers and stakeholders.

This includes being able to take technical dives into team and software

product challenges and partnering with peers across the functional disciplines.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter, resourceful

and a thought leader; however will need to possess tact and a highly

professional demeanor, with the ability to navigate a distributed, global

organization. This individual will also evaluate

team staffing needs and partner with the Global Leader of Software Engineering

in recruiting, employee performance management, goal setting and associate

development within the Engineering function.

Some additional responsibilities may include but are not

limited to:

  • Work closely with Solution and Enterprise Architects onarchitectural direction, recommendations and decisions.

  • Constant focus on continuous improvement activities,including the collection and trending of key data points, as well asdefining improvement plans.

  • Spearhead the successful adoption and execution of bestpractices including, but not limited to unit testing, design/code reviews,static and dynamic code analysis, technical debt prevention, cloudadoption, etc.

  • Partner with the Global Leader of Software Engineeringin defining future Engineering functional strategies.

  • Oversee and/or provide hands-on assistance to specialprojects, as defined by the Global Leader of Software Engineering.

  • Embrace and contribute to our Agile/Lean philosophy.


Qualifications: Technical

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of related software developmentexperience.

  • 1+ years of technical leadership and team managementexperience.

  • Experience working with the full Microsoft technologystack, including .NET 4+/Core, C# ,SQL Server, ASP.NET 4+ (MVC 5) and WebAPI.

  • Modern design pattern experience.

  • Experience with UI development technologies such as HTML5,CSS, AngularJS and Bootstrap.

  • Applied knowledge and passion for unit/integrationtesting frameworks, such as xUnit, nUnit, Moq, etc.

  • Experience using source control, build and deploy managementtools such as Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS), GIT, TeamCity andOctopus.

  • Experience working with collaboration and issuetracking tools such as Confluence, JIRA and Slack.


Qualifications: Management and Personal

  • Experience managing or providing tech leadership for Softwareas a Service (SaaS), multi-tenancy application teams.

  • Experience working within an Agile Scrum softwaredevelopment life cycle, including varying levels of Agile maturity.

  • Experience in ensuring teams uphold the higheststandards for delivering high quality code.

  • Excellent organizational skills, multitasking abilityand proven analytical, methodical thinking, problem solving and decisionmaking skills.

  • Proactively collaborates with other teams/team members(UX, Enterprise Architecture, Quality Assurance, Product Owners, PMO,Information Security DevOps) across global time zones with the upmostprofessionalism, tact and resolve.

  • Excellent verbal and writing skills, including theability to effectively communicate to non-technical team members andleaders and the ability to proactively provide status on team successes,challenges and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Strong work ethic is a must.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working for a national or global commercialsoftware product company requiring software product usage and highavailability in a 24/7/365 model.

  • Experience with Test Driven Development or BehaviorDriven Development
